Our care for quality and safety in our toys

At Ferrero, our consumers, especially families and children, are and have always been our number one priority. Safety and quality are the key pillars in the development process of our KINDER® toys, therefore, we are absolutely dedicated to providing the safest products possible, from design to production and final use, going beyond regulatory requirements.

The Ferrero Toys Testing Protocol states that KINDER® toys must fully comply with international toy regulations and standards, and with internal requirements. Each KINDER® toy must respect European toy safety regulations (EU Directive 2009/48/EC and European Technical Standard EN 71) as well as the international ones (International toy-safety standard ISO 8124), national regulations where KINDER® toys are commercialized (E.g. ASTM F963 standard for the US, Mercosur standards, Korean standard), and other regulations such as REACH regulations, related to the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals.

Moreover, within the Ferrero Toys Testing Protocol, we carry out voluntary tests over and above those required by international regulations and enforce strict guidelines on the design of our toys based on their dimensions and shapes, carefully selecting high-quality materials to avoid breakages.

Ferrero’s rigorous respect for these standards is certified by different internationally recognized institutes that are independent and accredited world leading laboratories in safety research, testing and certification.

Aiming to offer every consumer with the highest quality play experience with each one of our toys, our quality teams constantly monitor every critical process during manufacturing. Hundreds of samples are taken and tested daily throughout the manufacturing process at each KINDER® toys’ factory.
